MCCC Softball Wins Region 19 Championship
Mercer softball won the Region 19 Championship on May 2nd to advance to the Atlantic B District Championship next weekend with the winner travelling to the NJCAA DII World Series.
Mercer did not lose a game in the double elimination tournament. The Mustangs won their opening game vs Salem 8-3 after trailing early 3-0. MCCC followed up this win with a 4-2 win over Del Tech on Friday. Mercer dominated the Championship Game vs Del Tech Saturday winning 15-5.
Mercer will travel to Richard Bland College in Prince George, Virginia for a best of three series with the winner earning a trip to the World Series. Richard Bland is 30-24 on the season and lost 5-3 to Louisburg in the Region 10 Championship. Mercer is 42-5 coming off their second straight Region 19 title.
