Men's Tennis Schedule Announced

11/28/23

Mercer men’s tennis will open their season on March 22nd.  The Vikings have nine regular season matches with their final regular season match on April 19th.  Mercer will again host the Region 19 Championships at Mercer County Park on April 26th-27th.  At the Region Championships, the Vikings will compete for a chance to qualify for the NJCAA Division III National Championship held May 11th-15th in Oxford, Georgia.

The Vikings open up with three road matches against Region 19 opponents: RCSJ Gloucester on March 22nd, Brookdale on March 25th, and Ocean on March 27th.  The Vikings match on April 2nd vs Brookdale is their home opener.  Mercer will play RCSJ Gloucester at home on April 16th and Ocean on April 17th.  Mercer will also host Vaughn College on April 6th. The Vikings will travel to take on Harford on April 12th and Drew University on April 19th, the final regular season match of the season.

The Vikings will take on some tough opponents this spring.  RCSJ Gloucester finished as National Runner Up last spring at the NJCAA Division III National Championship.  Ocean finished 3rd at the National Championship last spring.  Harford finished 9th at the NJCAA Division I National Championship in 2023.

Four year opponent, Drew University won the Landmark Conference Championship in spring 2023 and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship, where they advanced to the second round of the championship.  Drew went 4-0 in their fall 2023 season.

The Vikings are coached by Andy Stoll, who is entering his fifth year as Head Coach. Mercer returns just one player from last spring’s team but is optimistic they can field a full scoring team this spring.  Stoll will be assisted by Barb Pleva and Marc Vecchiolla.
