Six Men's Tennis Players Earn All-Region Honors in Singles and Doubles Flights

In addition to the five All-American honors Mercer men’s tennis earned this spring, all six players earned All-Region honors based on their performances at the Region 19 Championship.

Sophomore Peyton Miller (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) earned First Team All-Region honors in both Singles and Doubles.  Miller was Region Champion at 1^st Singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 in the championship match of that flight.  Miller and freshman teammate Santiago Maura (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) won the Region Championship at 1^st Doubles with a big 6-2, 6-1 win over RCSJ Gloucester.  Maura earned 2^nd Team All-Region 19 honors at 3^rd Singles after advancing to the Region final that flight.

Freshman Jake Tavel (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) earned 1^st Team All-Region 19 Honors with his 6-3, 6-0 win at 2^nd Singles in the Region 19 Championship.  Tavel and freshman teammate Marcin Gniadzik (Braci Sniadeckich) finished as Runner-Ups at 2^nd Doubles at the Region Championship, earning them 2^nd Team All-Region honors at 2^nd Doubles.  Gniadzik was the Region Champion at 4^th Singles, earning 1^st Team All-Region honors with his win at that flight at the Region Championship.

Freshman Michael Satawa (Cottage Valley, NY/Nyack HS) earned 1^st Team All-Region 19 honors with his 6-2, 6-0 win at 5^th Singles at the Region Championship.  Satawa and freshman teammate Boris Espinoza (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) reached the finals at 3^rd Doubles, earning 2^nd Team All-Region honors at that flight.  Espinoza also earned 2^nd Team All-Region honors at 6^th Singles, reaching the Region Championship at that flight.

Mercer won the Region 19 Championship for the first time since 2016 and finished as Runner-Ups at the NJCAA Division III National Championship.
