The 2025 MCCC men’s tennis season ended with tying the program’s highest ever finish. The Vikings fell just 3.5 points shy of winning the national title with Oxford College at Emory winning their eight straight title with 20 points and MCCC finishing with 16.5 points. The 3.5 points is the closest Mercer men’s tennis has ever come within winning the national title. Mercer finished a commanding 6.5 points ahead of third place RCSJ Gloucester.
The 2025 men’s performance at the NJCAA Division III National Championship also marked one of the program’s best all-around performances by the team with five of its players earning All-American honors, the most at a national championship, including four players earning honors in Singles flights.
Sophomore Peyton Miller (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) became the fourth player in MCCC men’s tennis history to win the national title at 1st Singles, earning him All-American honors.

Freshman Boris Espinoza (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) earned 2nd Team All-American honors at 6th Singles at he reached the championship match at that flight.

This is the first time MCCC had four players earn All-American honors in Singles matches in a National Championship. This was also the first time Mercer had National Champions at 2nd Doubles since 2011.
While the MCCC men’s tennis season fell points shy of a national title, history was made in what can be considered the Vikings’ best all-around performance at the National Championship.
