10/15/26
MCCC Men’s Soccer battled rival Essex to a 1-1 tie on October 7th. The #8 ranked Mustangs battled the #15 ranked Wolverines to a draw in the teams’ second match of the year. On September 12th, MCCC beat Essex 5-0 on the Mustangs’ home turf in a dominant performance. With the 5-0 win in September and 1-1 draw last week, the Mustangs will host the deciding match for DII Region 19 Men’s Soccer as to which team will represent the Region at the District Championship, with the winner of District Championship earning an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.
This championship game between Mercer and Essex will be held on Friday, October 30th at 5:00 PM. Fans attending the game which is the day before Halloween are invited to wear costumes to the game with a prize given to the best costume. The night will also feature Halloween music and trivia (for prizes) and a possible group Thriller dance at halftime.
The MCCC Athletic Department is asking as many students, staff and fans as possible to come out to this game, not just for the holiday fun, but to give our Mustangs as much support as possible to help lead them to a win and trip to the District Championship.
