MCCC Men's Soccer Back in Top Ten

For the second straight week, MCCC Men’s Soccer remains ranked eighth in the country in Division II. The Mustangs are 6-2-1 and were ranked as low as 17th in the national poll in Week 2 but following a 5-0 win over #16 Essex on September 12th and a five-game win streak has moved Mercer back into the top ten.
The Mustangs are poised for a rematch with Region rival Essex on October 7th. The focus of the season remains daily preparation for the next game with the goal reaching the NJCAA National Tournament. Last season the polls did matter as Mercer lost in the District Championship but received an at large bid to the National Tournament as the Mustangs were ranked second in the nation in the final regular season poll.
After over a week off, the Mustangs will be back in action on Thursday, October 1st at Georgian Court University JV.
