MCCC Men's Soccer Hosts Rival Essex on Sept. 12th

Mercer men’s soccer will be hosting Region rival Essex County College Saturday, September 12th at 1:30 PM. As the only two DII teams in Region 19 this year, this game is an important test for determining which of these schools will be the Region representative to advance to the District Championship with the winner qualifying for the NJCAA National Tournament.
Mercer opened the season with a 3-0 loss vs Johnson County, an annual DII men’s soccer power from Kansas. Johnson County then traveled to Essex and lost 6-0. Essex certainly made a statement with the dominant win vs Johnson County, but Mercer has begun to come together and has been playing their best soccer after starting the season 0-2.
Essex has always battled Mercer in close contests year after year and the Mustangs would love to see the stands packed Saturday to bring the energy in this home contest. Be sure to clear you calendar Saturday and get ready to cheer on the Mustangs in one of their biggest games of the year!
