Mercer Men's Soccer Wins Third Straight Region 19 Championship

Mercer Men’s Soccer is one step closer to advancing to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament after capturing their third straight Region 19 Championship on November 1^st.  MCCC beat Essex 6-1 to advance to the Northeast District Championship.  Mercer will face St. Clair County Community College on Friday, November 7^th with the winner earning a trip to the National Tournament.  Mercer is 17-0 on the season

Mercer dominated the Region Championship.  Sophomores Daniel Garcia and Javier Hernandez each scored two goals and had one assist.  Sophomore Jesse Van Den Berg scored the first goal of the game and freshman Emilio Murguruza scored the final MCCC goal.  Sophomores Nasim Carpio, Adrian Garcia, Deniz Karcher and Riku Yasuda each had an assist in the win.

Head Coach Widmarc Dalce was named the Region 19 Coach of the Year.  Sophomore back Riku Yasuda was named the Region 19 Tournament MVP.
