Men's Lacrosse Players Earn All-Region 19 Honors

 

 

Despite a season-ending loss in the Region 19 Semifinals, MCCC men’s lacrosse had six players earn All-Region 19 honors, including Co-Offensive Player of the Year.  

 

Freshman attacker Owen McAdams (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year along with Nate Melnick from Sussex CCC. 

 

On the offensive side, sophomore faceoff specialist Izzy Miranda (Tampa, FL/Tampa Catholic), sophomore attacker Braden Travaglini (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) and freshman attacker Ashani Harvey (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Calabar HS) earned 1st Team All-Region honors.

 

Defensively, the Vikings had two players earn 1st Team All-Region 19 honors, freshman defender Liam Halloran (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) and freshman goalie Trevor Malik (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert).

 

McAdams had eleven goals in eight games this season, including five in a 16-10 win vs Sussex CCC.  McAdams also picked up 14 ground balls this spring.

 

Miranda had another dominant spring in the faceoff circle for the Vikings after also earning All-Region 19 honors in 2023.  Miranda won 125 face offs this spring, which was fourth best in the nation.  Miranda also picked up 112 ground balls, which was second best in the country.  Miranda scored six goals and three assists in eleven games.

 

Like Miranda, Travaglini earned 1st Team All-Region honors for the second straight season.  Travaglini scored 13 goals and had 7 assists in 10 games.  Travaglini also picked up 29 ground balls for the Vikings this spring.  Travaglini was the Vikings point’s leader, finishing with 20 on the season.  Travaglini also led the Vikings in goals scored with 13 and in caused turnovers with 11 on the season.

 

Harvey scored eleven goals in eleven games in his first collegiate season this spring.  Harvey also picked up 10 ground balls.

 

Liam Halloran helped anchor the Vikings defense, earning All-Region honors in his rookie season.  Halloran picked up 34 ground balls in 10 games.  Halloran also caused eight turnovers during the season.

 

Goalie Malik had an outstanding rookie season between the pipes, finishing with 152 saves in nine games.  Malik’s 186 saves in 10 games, which is top in the nation in saves.

 

The Vikings will look to build on the success of these six All-Region performers under first year Head Coach Ben Whitcraft.
