As the basketball season heads into its second half, the remaining home games will feature themed nights to help bring more of the community and campus together for Mercer’s games.
On Tuesday, January 27th, MCCC will host its 2nd Annual Athletic Academic Achievement Night recognizing all student athletes who earned All-Conference and All-Region honors for the Fall 2025 semester. Academic All-Americans and All-Academic Teams from the 2024-2025 academic year will also be recognized that night.
On Saturday January 31st vs Essex, Mercer women’s basketball will be hosting Hamilton PAL day for players from the Hamilton PAL basketball league. Players will scrimmage on the court at halftime of the game and have a meet and greet with players. On that date Mercer men’s basketball will have a Play for Derek game in honor of one of Mercer men’s basketball’s biggest fans Derek DiGregorio.
Tuesday, February 3rd vs Del Tech will mark the return of Cancer Awareness Night honoring all those who have fought or are fighting cancer and feature multiple tributes to those battling or have battled cancer.
Sophomore Night will be held on the Thursday, February 5th games vs Lackawanna, a night to recognize all second year players for their hard work and commitment to the team.
Saturday February 14th will be Play Smart, Save Lives Games, which is a national basketball coaches association focusing on gun safety education.
For Mercer women’s basketball final home game on Tuesday, February 17th vs Union, it will be Women in Sports Day. The night will honor one female student athlete from each of Mercer’s four women’s sports teams for their academic and athletic success as well as their teamwork and leadership.
