2025: What a Year for MCCC Athletics

 

 

 

What a year 2025 was for MCCC Athletics!  2026 has a lot to live up to after such an amazing year for our teams and student athletes.

 

MCCC Men’s Tennis finished as National Runner-Ups at the NJCAA Division III National Championship.  The team had two individual National Champions (Peyton Miller at 1st Singles and Marcin Gniadzik at 4th Singles) and one Doubles National Champion (2nd Doubles Gniadzik and Jake Tavel) and five All-Americans: Miller, Gniadzik, Michael Satawa and Boris Espinoza.  Men’s tennis were Region 19 Champions and Head Coach Andy Stoll was the Region Coach of the Year. 

 

This fall MCCC Men’s Soccer won the Region 19 Championship and reached the NJCAA Division II National Semifinals.  The team finished 19-0-2 and had two players named All-Americans.  Head Coach Widmarc Dalce was the Region 19 Coach of the Year and Adrian Garcia was the Region 19 Player of the Year.

 

Mercer Softball won the 2025 Region 19 Championship and Atlantic A Championship.  The team reached the NJCAA Division II World Series and finished with a 43-6 record.  Head Coach Ryan Zegarski was the Region 19 Coach of the Year and Jozalyn Sheipe-Warthen was the GSAC Pitcher of the Year.

 

Mercer women’s tennis had its highest finish ever at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament under first year Head Coach Qasim Khan.  MCCC Baseball finished as Region 19 Runner-Ups with a record.  Head Coach Russ Stupienski was named the Region 19 Coach of the Year and Collin Williams was the Region 19 Pitcher of the Year.   Mercer men’s lacrosse won the Region 19 Championship.  Head Coach Matt Davies was the Region 19 Coach of the Year and Nathan Bialy was the Offensive Region Player of the Year.

 

This fall MCCC women’s soccer finished as Region 19 Runner-Ups.  Rihanna Vincent was named an NJCAA All-American, the first for Mercer women’s soccer since 2016.

 

In its first time back as a program in three years, Mercer women’s basketball finished and reached the Region 19 Semifinals.  MCCC men’s basketball also qualified for the Region 19 Playoffs.

 

The success of MCCC Athletics was not limited to the courts and fields.  A record four teams were named NJCAA All-Academic teams, having an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis all earned this honor.

 

A record thirty individual student athletes were named NJCAA Academic All-Americans for having a GPA of 3.6 or higher and earning 24 or more credits during the 2024-2025 academic year.

 

It was an incredible year for Mercer Athletics and we can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
