Celebrating Siblings Day with MCCC Athletics

4/6/24

Siblings Day falls on April 10th and you may notice some familiar faces on the athletic playing fields at MCCC.

Freshman men’s lacrosse players Liam and Nolan Halloran (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) are not just brothers, but twins.  Liam is a defender and long stick midfielder and Nolan is a midfielder.  Both brothers earned All-Region and All-Conference Academic honors for Fall 2023.

There are also brothers on the MCCC baseball team.  Sophomore Dylan Pope and freshman Jake Pope (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) are both brothers and infielders on the Vikings squad that is 21-12.

Sophomore softball player Maya Patel is the younger sister of former MCCC Assistant Coach and player Alisha Patel.  Maya earned All-Conference honors last spring while playing under her sister.  Maya hit .420 with 20 home runs, 19th best in NJCAA DII Softball, with 71 hits and 63 runs in 2023.  Alisha was a member of the last Vikings softball team to reach the NJCAA World Series in 2018.  Alisha earned both All-Region and All-Conference honors while playing outfield at MCCC in 2017 and 2018.  Alisha hit .403 with 60 hits in her second season at MCCC.  Maya is currently batting .476 this spring with 16 RBIs and has helped the Vikings to a 19-5 record.

It’s great to have siblings come and be a part of the MCCC Athletic family and we are grateful for the siblings on our teams this year!  Happy Siblings’ Day!
