Women's Soccer Player Eva Sturm Named Region 19 Player of the Year
Freshman women’s soccer player Eva Sturm (Berlin, Germany/Gymnasium Steglitz) was named the Women’s Soccer Division I/II Region 19 Player of the Year. Sturm has 19 goals in 15 games, which is 14th best in NJCAA Division II Soccer. Sturm is also 14th in the nation in points (46) as Sturm has eight assists along with her nineteen goals.
Sturm has five game-winning goals this seasons and has helped the Vikings to a 12-2-1 record and a ranking in the top 20 (20th) in the latest NJCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Poll. Sturm’s strong offensive play has helped the Vikings average 3.93 goals per game. Mercer has scored 59 goals this season, 20th best in the nation and Sturm has 19 of those 59 goals.
