Softball Player Truelove Named GSAC Player of the Week


Mercer softball player Bella Truelove has been named the GSAC (Garden State Athletic Conference) Player of the Week for the week ending March 12 th.  The sophomore outfielder helped Mercer to a 4-2 start in their first six games of the season.  Through these six games, Truelove was hitting .600 with a .609 on base percentage (OBP) and had 4 doubles in 6 games. 


In the Vikings season opening doubleheader at RCSJ Gloucester, Truelove went 2 for 4 in both games with a double and RBI in each game.  In a 7-3 win over Lakeland, Truelove went 3-4 with 2 doubles.  In a 14-3 win over University of Rio Grande JV, Truelove was 1 for 1 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs.


Truelove earned First Team All-Region 19 Honors in 2022.  Truelove had 43 RBIs and 11 home runs last season. 


The Vikings will look for the bat of Truelove to continue to provide big hits and offense again this season.  Mercer went 6-2 in their games in Myrtle Beach over the last week and will return to action Saturday for a doubleheader vs Anne Arundel at 12 PM.
