MCCC Athletics is No Joke

It may be April Fools’ Day, but one thing that is no joke is the Athletic program at MCCC.  The sports teams at Mercer have always strong and successful past and the MCCC student athletes today continue to carry on this success and tradition.

From Fall 2024 until April 1, 2025, Mercer’s sports teams have 110 wins and a .733 winning percentage.  Men’s soccer made their 37th appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament.  MCCC women’s soccer got their 500th win as a program.  Men’s and women’s soccer both were Region Champions.  Men’s and women’s basketball both qualified for the Region 19 playoffs.  Men’s and women’s soccer and women’s basketball all were nationally ranked at one point in their seasons.

Softball started the 2025 season 21-0.  Mercer men’s tennis got their first win of the season, beating last year’s Division III NJCAA National Champion Oxford College at Emory on March 29th.  MCCC men’s lacrosse has won four straight games.  Mercer baseball had a nine-game winning streak and upset the top ranked DIII team, RCSJ Gloucester 5-3 on March 25th.  This was the first time in years the Vikings have beaten RCSJ Gloucester in a nine-inning game since 2017.  MCCC women’s tennis won every flight in their first two matches of the 2025 season.

Mercer’s sports teams are no joke and are a vital and important part of the college as they always have been.  The tradition of MCCC Athletics is nothing to laugh at and will continue to bring the college attention on both the local and national stage.
