Freshman men’s basketball player Izaiah Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Burlington City HS) was named 1 st Team All-Region 19. The point guard averaged 18.9 points per game and started all 27 games for the Vikings. In addition to his scoring ability, Johnson averaged 5.3 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game and 2.37 steals per game.
Johnson finished in the top 50 in the nation (NJCAA Division II) in eight different categories. Johnson was 16 th in steals (64), 21 st in total points (509), 30 th in games started (27), 31 st in three point field goals made (65), 35 th in points per game (18.5), assists (116) and free throws made (100). Johnson also finished 39 th in the nation in total field goals made with 172 on the season.
Johnson scored 20 or more points nine different times this season including two 29 point games: one on January 24 th vs Northampton and again on February 26 th at Brookdale. Johnson’s strong play this season helped the Vikings to win ten more games than the 2021-2022 season.
