Myrtle Beach, SC -

Mercer softball (6-1) won their second game of the day at Myrtle Beach, beating Rend Lake, IL 12-0 in 5 innings.  Sophomore Stacie Denucci (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan) had a big day offensively, going 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs and a home run and freshman Courtney Whittaker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs, a home run and a double.  Sophomore Alyssa Bauer (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs and double and freshmen Dana Knapp (Langhorne, PA) and Jessica Fremgen (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) each added an RBI in the win.  Freshman pitcher Kaitlyn Cegielski (Stockton, NJ/Hunterdon Central) moved to 3-1 on the season, throwing 5 shutout innings.
