Mercer vs. Valley Forge

21-3 Win




West Windsor, NJ -

In Game 2 of their doubleheader, Mercer baseball (17-6) beat Valley Forge 21-3.  Freshman Robert Boselli (Ventnor City, NJ/Holy Spirit) had a big day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a home run, two doubles and 7 RBIs.  Sophomore Shane Monahan (Levittown, PA/Truman) also had a big day at bat, going 4 for 5 with a home run and 4 RBIs.  Freshman Zach Gakeler (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) was a perfect 3 for 3 with two doubles and 4 runs and sophomore David Osnato (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a double and 2 RBIs.  Freshman pitcher Mark Scarpa (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) got the win striking out eight in five innings and sophomore Zach Schram (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) was a perfect 2 for 2 at bat.  Sophomore James Rice (Middlesex, NJ/Immaculata) and freshman Austin Constantini (Yardville, NJ/Steinert) each went 1 for 2 with an RBI, freshman Angel Garced (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) had a triple and 3 runs and sophomore Joe Santospago (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) had a RBI and 2 runs in the win.
