MCCC Students Attend EOF Statewide Student Day at the Capital

West Windsor, NJ: Fourteen students from MCCC’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program and their counselor, Tricia Shaw, attended the EOF Statewide Student Day at the Capitol on March 21.  They joined over 125 EOF students, from throughout the State of New Jersey, who came together to meet and speak with legislators to discuss the importance and impact of EOF.

The students met with Senator Ronald Rice, as well as other delegates throughout the state to highlight the urgency of promoting EOF in the upcoming budget hearing.  During these discussions, it came to light that several legislators were themselves former EOF students during their undergraduate education.

Students spent the day advocating for themselves, as well as fellow and future students. They told legislators they were proud to be in EOF and that their investment would bring a return. Recently over 800 EOF students were celebrated for being on the Dean’s List.
