Sensational Summer Cooking and Wine Classes Being Offered at MCCC’s Culinary Center

5/7/12

West Windsor, NJ -- In the mood for food?  Learn how to cook that special meal for a picnic this summer in one of the many new noncredit culinary courses being offered through the Culinary Center at Mercer County Community College.  Presented through the Center for Continuing Studies, classes are held weekends and evenings on the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Learn how to make a homemade meal in 35 minutes with “Whole Meal & Half the Time” on June 15 with Chef Jeremy Stahl, who is also teaching on summer’s best bites in “Great American Summer” on July 21, “BBQ on Tour” on July 28, and “Kicked Up Momma’s Classics” on Aug. 10.

Chef Bill Conrad will tempt your taste buds with a class on “Steakhouse Cooking at Home” on June 9.

He will also teach “Brunch Favorites” on June 16, “Mini Desserts” on June 23, “Spanish Tapas” on July 14, and “Knife Skills” classes on June 9 and Aug. 3.

Finally, Chef Benson Yu will tempt a palate that enjoys Asian cooking with “Sushi 101: Colorful and Fun Sushi” on May 20, “Thailand” on June 3, “Asian Noodle Class” on June 24, “Sensational Snacks for Casual Company” on July 15, and “Stir Fry” on July 29.

Wine connoisseurs, as well as those who just enjoy wine tastings, will enjoy the five new classes being offered by Bruce Smith, a certified wine specialist.  He begins his summer course offerings with a class on German white wine, “International Gewurztraminers” on June 20, and continues with “Wines of Maison Guigal” on June 27, “International Malbec” on July 11, and “Wines from the Finger Lakes” on July 25.

Also being offered by request is “Wines in a Box” on July 18, which explores the dos and don’ts of buying wine in a box instead of a bottle.
