MCTV Wins Two Telly Awards

MCTV, the cable television channel of Mercer County Community College, has been
awarded a 2006 Bronze and Silver Telly Award.
The Telly Awards
honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.
Since 1978, their mission has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. The 27th Annual Telly Awards received over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.
MCTV was awarded a Silver Telly, the award's highest honor, for the stations live coverage of the 2006 Mercer County High Schools Boys & Girls Basketball Championships. The doubleheader was directed by Mercer County College student, Tom Carroll, and led by the announcing duo of Craig Coenen and Ben Stentz.
The Bronze Telly was awarded for the documentary When Learning Comes to Life: The World of Storytelling Arts, a 30 minute piece that explores a New Jersey non-profit company dedicated to offering an alternative way of learning to inner city school children. The documentary was led by co-producers Mark Zangara and Mike Marazzo.
These were the second and third awards for MCTV this year. In January, the station received a Communicator Award for its live news program, MCN Live.
