Mercer Video Students Win Aegis Award
A class of Mercer County Community College students has won a 2007 Aegis Finalist Award for their work on a marketing video for the Career Training Institute of Trenton, NJ.
The class, entitled “Applied Field Production”, is designed to introduce students to a real world environment while still in school. The students form a production company and are “hired” by an outside client to produce a video.
The award winning piece was produced as an enrollment video targeting high school students for the Career Training Institute of Trenton. The course was taught by Professor Steve Voorhees.
MCCC students JJ Leaver of Robbinsville, Jennifer Leigh of Hamilton and Patrick Martin of Hamilton served as Project Leaders along side photographers and editors Pete Timmons of Hamilton, Brandon Norwood of Hamilton Square, Michael Gradzki and Keith Farley.
Now in its 18th year, the Aegis Awards has established itself as a leading competition for professional video and film makers. The mission of the Aegis Awards competition is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective video/film productions being produced today. There were over 2,500 entries this year from around the country.
