works from a variety of musical styles including music by John Rutter, Audrey Snyder and Frederick Silver, along with student-composed works and solos by voice performance majors. Handel's Hallelujah Chorus will be the finale. The Jazz Band, directed by Professor James Kelly, will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. The band's varied and exciting program will range from the Duke Ellington classic, Things Ain't What They Used to Be to the Latin jazz-tinged, Placeres del Corazon. Other selections will include Miles Davis' hard bop classic, Four, as well as John Coltrane's up-tempo blues, Cousin Mary. All selections will feature standout improvisations by jazz students, who will be performing in small group settings as well as in the full band.
