MCCC to Host "Spring Into Student Success!" April 2

1/26/12

WEST WINDSOR, N.J.  --  The Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Foundation Board of Directors will host “Spring Into Student Success!“ on Monday, April 2, 6 p.m. at the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village. The event marks the college’s 23rd annual spring fundraiser.

Proceeds go to scholarships for deserving students and other student needs. Each year the Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to high-achieving and financially qualified students, including part-time students and single parents.  Many students benefit from endowed or named scholarships established by donors through the Foundation.

Replacing the gala dinner dance, this year’s event will include hors d’oeuvres, complimentary beer and wine until 8 p.m., coffee, desserts, a silent auction with original artwork donated by area artists, raffle, awards presentations and networking.  MCCC music students will provide entertainment, and horticulture students will create floral arrangements.

Committee members planning Mercer County Community College’s “Spring Into Student Success!” event include, from left, MCCC Vice President Mellissia Zanjani, Foundation Board member Lori Danko, Event Co-Chair Nina Melker, Foundation Board members Ruth Rosser and Jim Faridy, MCCC President Patricia C. Donohue and Event Co-Chair Pasquale Colavita.

Serving as co-chairs of the committee are MCCC Foundation Board member Nina Melker, senior vice president of The Bank of Princeton, and Pasquale Colavita, chair of the Mercer County Freeholders.

Businesses and community members are invited to participate through corporate sponsorships, advertisements in the program book, silent auction donations, and/or tickets to the event, which are $115 each, or $215 for two.  For further information or to purchase tickets online, click here, or contact Amy Frangione at 609-570-3293 or e-mail foundation@mccc.edu.
