"Back to School Night for Adults Aug. 14 at MCCC 7-18-08
Participants will have the opportunity to get expert advice and information about short-term, noncredit professional and personal development classes, and to learn about the variety of classes offered. Attendees will receive a coupon for a 10% discount on fall registration, plus the chance to win a free class.
New programs offered this fall by the Center for Continuing Studies include a Certificate in Gerontology for those working in health care, social services or psychology, or individuals caring for the elderly. Another new program, called Locomotive Engineer & Conductor Basic Training, will train workers for the growing rail transportation industry.
Other fall offerings include professional licensure and certificate programs in many business and health care fields, such as supply management, meeting planning, human resources, marketing, business writing, drug development, pharmacy, medical billing/coding and nursing assistant. Other specialized programs offer training for teachers, child care workers, and construction workers. Information technology and computer literacy classes range from the most basic to advanced programs in web development, Cisco certification, Java and Oracle.
Personal interest programs and courses include the Retire With Attitude series, fitness and recreation, finance, world languages, horticulture, and a wide variety of culinary classes held in the colleges state-of-the-art kitchens. Hundreds of noncredit online courses cover subjects from anatomy to web design.
