New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine to Speak at MCCC Commencement Ceremonies May 21 5-14-09 New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine will be the keynote speaker at Mercer County Community College's 2009 Commencement Ceremonies on Thursday, May 21, 5:30 p.m. on the central quadrangle, West Windsor Campus. Approximately 950 students are graduating this year. The student speaker will be Rodney Hargis, an Information Technology graduate, member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and winner of a $5,000 Terry O'Banion Student Technology Champion Award in 2008, sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College and Microsoft Corporation. Hargis works as an analyst part-time for MCCC's Virtual College. This year's Grand Marshall will be long-time business professor, Dr. Carl Kovelowski. During the ceremony one of MCCC's faculty members will receive the Distinguished Teaching Award. Each year the name of the awardee is kept secret. The Mercer County Symphonic Band will perform. Members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will be selling bottled water and small flower arrangements outside the ET building before and during the ceremonies. In the event of rain, Commencement Ceremonies will be held in the Physical Education Building, and will be telecast to Kelsey Theatre and lecture halls in the Communications Building. An Honors Convocation begins at 2:30 p.m. in Kelsey Theatre for top students who will receive scholarships and awards. Directions to MCCC Current MCCC News Home Page
