According to Mills, "Our goal was to update the look of our graphics with something fresh - something that conveys the professionalism of our board. The student designs surpassed my expectations. They presented in a very professional manner. " Each year Mercer's ad design students choose a nonprofit or governmental organization that can benefit from their design work. According to Ad Design Program Coordinator Tina LaPlaca, "This project is important because our students work for a real-world client and must understand the client's mission and goals." According to Mills, the idea to participate was brought to the WIB marketing committee by Mr. Kurocka for consideration, and the group felt it was an excellent way to partner with the college. The WIB plans to present the student ideas to its committee, and to incorporate the ideas into WIB materials. The Workforce Investment Board develops, through public/private partnerships, a quality workforce which successfully meets employers' hiring needs and ensures the employment and advancement of jobseekers.
