MCCC
and William Paterson University Sign Transfer Agreement for Exercise Science
Students
Students in Mercer's program are required to take such courses as Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Measurement & Prescription, Team Sports Management, Basic Concepts of Nutrition, and Field Experience in Exercise Science. In addition, Mercer's students are prepared to sit for the National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer exam, which the college hosts every June. Exercise Science majors prepare for careers fields such as exercise physiology, kinesiology, personal training, biomechanics, cardiac rehab, coaching, health and fitness, education, or research and strength conditioning for athletes. MCCC has signed transfer agreements with dozens of colleges throughout the region and nation, and also offers dual admissions programs with eight New Jersey colleges and universities. Mercer is a coeducational institution with an open admissions policy. Students may attend day, evening and weekend classes at the West Windsor campus, James Kerney Campus, or The Virtual College. William Paterson University offers 35 undergraduate and 19 graduate programs through its five colleges: Arts and Communication, Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Health. Certification is available in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and special education. Pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, and veterinary medicine are arranged at the request of students.
