Database Administration – SQL / MySQL

Six courses are required for this career certificate, which is intended to enhance skills in SQL database server administration and to prepare students to pass the MCDBA core examinations. Courses completed earlier (e.g., those that were part of an A.A.S. degree, a certificate, or a degree at another college) do not need to be repeated.

Database Administration – Oracle

Nine courses are required for this career certificate, which is intended to enhance students’ skills in Oracle database programming, design, and administration. These courses prepare students for certification as an Oracle associate and professional. Courses completed earlier (e.g., those that were part of an A.A.S. degree, a certificate, or a degree at another college) do not need to be repeated.

Project Management

Seven courses are required for this career certificate, which is intended to enhance students’ skills in project management. Courses completed earlier (e.g., those that were part of an A.A.S. degree, a certificate, or a degree at another college) do not need to be repeated.

Programming

Seven courses are required for this career certificate, which is intended to enhance students’ skills in computer programming, systems analysis, and project management. Those who successfully complete the certificate will have an advanced working knowledge of programming in a distributed database environment and the experience to plan and schedule major programming activities that employ teams of programmers.

Network Engineering Technology – Microsoft certification

This certificate assists students in preparing to take the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) examinationsand CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ certification examinations.

Network Engineering Technology – Cisco certification

This certificate assists students in preparing to take the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) examination and CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ certification examinations.

Network Engineering Technology – Security certification

This certificate assists students in preparing to take CompTIA’s A+, Network+, and Security+; and SANS Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) examinations.

Microsoft.NET Programming Environment

Ten courses are required for this career certificate, which is intended to prepare students to develop applications in Microsoft’s next generation of application development tools. Successful graduates will be able to solve programming nd application delivery problems using SQL server database technology, VB.NET, C#.NET, and the .NET environment. Students must have a degree and coursework similar to IST 145 and IST 123 for entry into this certificate.
