Giant Puppets Tell Tale of "Ugly Duckling" at
MCCC's Kelsey Theatre March 12

West Windsor, N.J. -- Larger-than-life puppets provide a new twist on a fairytale classic. Bits 'N Pieces Theatre brings its colorful adaptation, "The Ugly Duckling, Starring Pinky Flamingo," to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre Saturday, Mar. 12 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.

In this high energy musical version of the Hans Christian Andersen story, nine-foot-tall puppets and actress Holli Rubin sing and dance as they teach youngsters lessons of kindness and self-esteem. Pinky is a perky, hot pink Florida flamingo who is indeed a bird of a "different feather." Hatched by a couple of very proper Polar Penguin parents, Pinky does everything that she can to fit in. She learns, in the process, that being true to oneself is the only path to true happiness.

Based in Tampa Bay, Fla., Bits 'N Pieces is known for its unique ability to create magic as it presents classic stories that reinforce some of childhood's most valuable lessons. The company tours extensively throughout the United States and has made international appearances through cultural exchange programs with Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan.

Tickets are $8 for children, students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible. For more on events at Kelsey Theatre visit:
