Community College invites families to a "Summer Camps Open
House" on Sunday, Jan. 27 from noon to 3 p.m. (Snow date:
Sunday, Feb. 3.) The event will be held in the Student Center on
the college's West
Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Representatives
will be available to provide overviews and answer questions about
all camp programs. Families will be able to submit their camp registration
forms at the Open House, guaranteeing a wide selection from Mercer's
many offerings for Summer, 2008.
Mercer welcomes
youngsters ages 6 to 17 to its campus each summer for participation
in Camp College, Sports Camps, Tomato Patch Visual and Performing
Arts Workshops, and Specialty Camps. Camp College, for children
ages 6 through 12, is offered in one three-week and one four-week
session. Participants in this innovative program develop a personalized
schedule from more than 60 choices. Camp College also offers Specialty
Camps for ages 6-14 in one-week sessions. In Mercer's Sports
Camps, campers may choose from 13 popular sports for weeklong
sessions taught by high school and college coaches and college athletes.
Tomato Patch is Mercer's theater, dance, vocal music and
visual arts program for youngsters entering grades 5 through 12,
which includes a performance and exhibit at the end of both sessions.
Tours of Mercer's
extensive camp facilities will be available. Facilities include
computer labs, television studio, Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis
courts, cafeteria and more. The 2008 summer season starts June 16
and ends the week of August 4 for Camp College and Sports Camps.
The Tomato Patch season runs from June 23 to August 8.
