Directed by John Maurer of Ewing, "Singin' in the Rain"
offers a backstage look at the often fraught, often hilarious transition
from silent films to talkies, when actors had to either adapt to
new demands or fade from the big screen. Set against the backdrop
of a 1927 Hollywood set, movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont
are silent film darlings and the biggest names at Monumental Pictures.
But the public wants musicals and the screechy-voiced Lina can't
sing or dance. The studio cooks up a scheme to dub in the voice
of up-and-coming starlet Kathy Seldon, but Lina has other ideas.
The movie, which starred Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald
O'Conner, won numerous honors including several Academy Awards.
In 2006, it was named by the American Film Institute as the number
one movie musical of all time.
Starring
in Maurer Productions' "Singin' in the Rain" are Michael
Stephens as Don Lockwood, Nicole Farina-Machin as Kathy Seldon,
Jim Petro as Cosmo Brown, Vicky Czarnick as Lina Lamont, and Ray
Pental as R. F. Simpson. Also featured are Fred Bartlett, Alycia
Bauch-Cantor, Judy Berwick, Jeff Brannin, Andrew Clark, Ashley Goldstein,
