This Broadway show is a tribute to the inspired life work of Dr. Theodore Seuss Geisel, author and illustrator of 44 children’s books. “Seussical” is a fast-paced series of tales narrated by the Cat in the Hat, Geisel’s most well known character. Popping into the imagination of a boy named JoJo, the Cat leads him on an amazing journey where he meets many of Dr. Seuss' marvelous creatures: Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!

”Seussical” was conceived by Monty Python’s Eric Idle and created by composer Stephen Flaherty and writer Lynn Ahrens. The show’s memorable, Grammy-nominated musical score cleverly combines Dr. Seuss’ finest themes, using a medley of styles ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk.

Geisel, who died in 1991, was the recipient of two Academy awards, two Emmy awards, a Peabody award and the Pulitzer Prize. His books are known for their blend of whimsy, zany humor, catchy verse, and outlandish illustrations.
