Sing Along With Mother Goose in "A Pocketful of Rhymes"
At MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Sept. 29-Oct. 1


Stars In The Park invites children, parents and grandparents to sing along with Mother Goose when "A Pocketful of Rhymes" comes to MCCC's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times for this musical tribute to the world's best loved nursery rhymes are: Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 and 4 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 1 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Kristin Heiser stars as Mother Goose in this joyful musical revue. She shares the stage with 19 energetic children in roles that include "Little Miss Muffet" as a flapper, "Humpty Dumpty" as a swing dancer, and Elvis crooning the "Little Girl Blues."
Among the nursery rhymes presented with an international flair are "Mary Had a Little Lamb" direct from the Far East, "There Was An Old Woman" performed as a traditional Israeli dance, "Little Bo Peep" and "Simple Simon" as characters in a Louis XIV-era music box, "Jack Be Nimble" flamenco-style, "Little Jack Horner" doing the tarantella, "Tom The Piper's Son" playing the Scottish bagpipes, Russian boatmen dancing to "Hi Diddle Diddle," and "Jack Sprat" performing an Austrian waltz.

In addition to Kristin Heiser as Mother Goose, children featured in the cast include: William Burke, Sarah Casey Coughlan, Lucas Cheng, Elizabeth Felkner, Cynthia George, Jamie George, Jessica Getlik, Devon Hittelman, Pierce Hittelman, Riely Hittelman, Kayla James, Dominique Jones, Connor Kraft, Eric Leiggi, Caroline Mauer, Bailey Outerbridge, Samantha Romeno, Jeffrey Rosenthal, and Lauren Rubenstein. The show is directed by Diane Wargo, with musical direction by Pat Masterson, choreography by Jacqui Mihalik and costumes by Lorraine Wargo.

Tickets are $8 for children and seniors, and $10 for adults. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Discounted series packages for the 2006-07 season are still available. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.
