"Rapunzel" to Let Her Hair Down at Kelsey Theatre Sept. 17

West Windsor, N.J. -- Mercer County Community College opens its 2011-12 Kelsey Kids Series with "Rapunzel," the whimsical tale of a girl who has never had a bad hair day. The award-winning Kaleidoscope Theatre presents this enchanting musical adaptation of the Brothers Grimm classic on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

The inspiration for the recent movie "Tangled," "Rapunzel" is the story of a beautiful heroine with magnificent and lengthy locks who is imprisoned in a tower by a comical and bumbling witch. Much is in store as Rapunzel meets her true love and is rescued from the tower with the help of her handsome prince and members of the audience in this highly-interactive production.

Based in Rhode Island, Kaleidoscope Theatre was founded in 1977 to create and perform educational plays and workshops for youngsters from elementary to high school. Touring from Maine to Texas, the company has earned numerous honors, including the Best of Rhode Island Award from Rhode Island Monthly Magazine and the Rhode Island Theatre Achievement Award.

Tickets are $10 for all ages. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333 or online starting August 26. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible. Free parking is available next to the theater.
