Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite" Offers Comic Take on
Relationships at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre July 16-25

West Windsor, N.J. - Wry tales of middle-age and marriage are served up with a comedic touch in the Neil Simon classic, "Plaza Suite," to be presented by The Yardley Players at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre. This revival of the 1968 Broadway hit runs Fridays, July 16 and 23 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, July 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, July 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on July 16.

The setting is Room 719 at the luxurious Plaza Hotel in New York City, where three separate stories reveal the trials and entanglements of marriage and romance. The first vignette portrays a marriage gone stale and a wife's attempts to rekindle the spark in the face of her husband's major midlife crisis.

In the second act, an amusingly awkward tryst takes place between a Hollywood producer and his childhood sweetheart from New Jersey.

The final hilarious act features a couple bickering over how to get their terrified daughter, who fears becoming like them, out of the locked bathroom on her wedding day.

The couples include Doug Eberhart of Yardley, Pa., as Sam Nash; Kevin Hallam of Hamilton as Jesse Kiplinger; Michele Kallman of Plainsboro as Muriel Tate; Mike McCollum of Feasterville, Pa., as Roy Hubley; and Liz Wurtz as Levittown, Pa., as Karen Nash and Norma Hubley.

Also featured are Julie Meeks of Robbinsville as Mimsey Hubley and Jean McCormack; David Szemis of West Windsor as the Waiter; and Josh Brand of Lawrenceville as the Bellhop and Borden Eisler.

The show is directed by Howard Matter of Yardley, Pa.

Tickets for "Plaza Suite" are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for students and children. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available next to the theater.

The final show in the Kelsey Summer Festival is "Cinderella," a hilarious musical version of the classic story presented by Stars in the Park July 30-Aug. 8. For more information, visit the Kelsey website or call the Box Office.
