"If You Give a Pig a Pancake" Brings Storybooks to Life at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Feb. 14

It's time to tickle your funny bone and let your imagination soar at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Theatreworks/USA presents "If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Other Story Books," a musical collage based on popular children's literature, on Saturday, February 14 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

A multi-talented cast presents seven stories that will delight young audiences with a blend of wisdom, humor and joy. The show's title story, "If You Give a Pig a Pancake," is a hilarious lesson in cause-and-effect. "Diary of a Worm" enables youngsters to view the world from a new vantage point. "Horace and Morris But Mostly Dolores" describes a test of true friendship. "How I Became a Pirate" affirms both the excitement of adventure and the satisfactions of home. Other playful tales include "Fluffy the Classroom Guinea Pig," "Lily's Big Day," and "The Paper Bag Princess." The 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Based in New York City, Theatreworks/USA is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit company for young and family audiences, touring approximately 16 shows annually from a growing repertoire of 117 plays and musicals. Every year, over four million people in 49 states and Canada, many without other access to the performing arts, enjoy Theatreworks productions in venues as varied as local elementary school gymnasiums, regional fine arts centers, and major theaters.

Tickets are $8 for children, students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.
