Kelsey Theatre Children's Series to Start with Latin Beat As "Hot Peas 'n Butter" Performs Sept. 29

Kids are in for a treat - even if they don't like peas! "Hot Peas 'n Butter" opens the children's season at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre with a distinctive Latin sound on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Winner of a 2006 Family Choice Award, Hot Peas 'N Butter is a unique children's musical group founded on the premise that kids can be reached through music - good music! Combining jazz with sizzling Latin beats, the band performs catchy, unforgettable songs that boast bilingual lyrics and multicultural rhythms. Professional musicians Danny Lapidus and Francisco Cotto, both from New York City, created the group in 2000 and quickly found a large and receptive audience. The diverse, six-member band has been featured on Sirius Satellite Radio's "Kids Stuff" and its hit videos, "Number 1" and "Deep Down," have been favorites on Nickelodeon and Noggin.

Tickets are $8 for children and seniors, and $10 for adults. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.
