Kelsey Theatre To Host Third Annual AIDS Benefit on June 17-18
"The Odd Couple" Comes to Kelsey Stage

Can two single men with distinctly different habits share an apartment without killing each other? Neil Simon's classic comedy, "The Odd Couple," comes to MCCC's Kelsey Theatre on June 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. The show is the third annual theater benefit presented by The James Tolin Memorial Fund (JTMF). Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Tax-deductible tickets are available at two donation levels: Keller-Williams Gold at $50 and Open Arms Silver at $25. Proceeds will benefit The Open Arms Foundation, a program which provides counseling, support and services to New Jersey residents living with HIV, and Graffiti Productions, an educational program aimed at providing disenfranchised New Jersey youth with creative outlets through the performing arts. Additional proceeds will be used to establish The James Tolin Memorial Scholarship at Mercer County Community College. Over the last two years, the JTMF has raised nearly $20,000 for the Open Arms Foundation by presenting benefits which featured Paul Rudnick’s "Jeffrey" (2003) and Harvey Fierstein’s "Torch Song Trilogy" (2004).

Neil Simon’s "The Odd Couple" is the oil-and-vinegar tale of a divorced slob, Oscar Madison, and a recently-separated neat-freak, Felix Ungar. When Felix is thrown out by his wife, he moves in with poker buddy Oscar and the fun begins. This production is directed by Brian A. Bara and features Dale Simon as Oscar, Doug Edelson as Felix, Steve Pie as Murray, Eve Connelly as Speed, Mark Violi as Roy, C. David Luckenbaugh as Vinnie, Jennifer Barron as Gwendolyn, and Liz Moore as Cecily.

The evening starts with a silent auction at 7 p.m. Some items have been donated by celebrities; others come from local and national merchants and organizations, including Royal Crest Farms, McCarter Theatre, Cruise One, Miele USA, The Trenton Titans, The National Hockey League, Broadway Cares and Comcast. A cocktail reception will follow each performance, with live music provided by “New Atlantis.” Corporate sponsorship of the event is generously provided by Keller-Williams Real Estate of Pennington, NJ.

This annual event is in memoriam of local actor and MCCC alumnus, James Tolin, who was lost to HIV in 2002. For event tickets and information, call the Kelsey Theatre box office at 609-584-9444 or email Tracy Antozzeski at Tickets may also be purchased at the door one hour prior to the show.
