"Nate the Great" Unravels Mystery
At MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Nov. 22

10/20/08

Need a mystery solved? "Nate the Great" is at your service. Theatreworks/USA presents a new musical production about this spunky, pint-size detective at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Based on Marjorie Weinman Sharmot's popular children's book series, Theatreworks/USA sets the stage for mastermind Nate as he unravels mysteries in the tradition of Sherlock Holmes, Nero Wolfe and Charlie Chan. Nate has built a first-rate reputation in the neighborhood for finding lost balloons, books, slippers, chickens, and even a goldfish. When his neighbor, Annie, asks for help in locating her missing painting, Nate must draw on all of his skills to decipher the toughest case of his career. While Nate has always believed that great detectives work alone, he finds that solving the case is easier - and a lot more fun! - with a partner. Young audiences will enjoy the adventure while learning lessons of teamwork and friendship.

Theatreworks/USA, based in New York City, is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit theatre for young and family audiences, touring approximately 16 shows annually. Every year, over four million people in 49 states and Canada, many with no other access to the performing arts, enjoy Theatreworks productions in venues as varied as local elementary school gymnasiums, regional fine arts centers, and major Broadway-sized theaters.

Tickets are $8 for children, students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.
