"Mercer
County Artists 2009," the annual juried exhibit of artists
who live, work or study in Mercer County, is on display at The Gallery
at Mercer County Community College now through April 9. The exhibit
features 78 works by 64 artists, including 18 works that are three-dimensional.
Featured art was selected from more than 200 works submitted.
The public is invited to a reception announcing the award winners
on Wednesday, March 18, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The Gallery is located
on the second floor of the Communications Building on Mercer's West
Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.
According
to Gallery Curator Tricia Fagan, most art media are represented,
including oils, watercolor prints, ink drawings, colored pencil,
ceramics, wood, handmade paper, acrylics and mixed media. This annual
exhibit is a collaboration between the college and the Mercer County
Cultural and Heritage Commission.
Gallery
hours are Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays,
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.; and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
