"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" Comes to MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Feb. 3

Journey to the magical land of Narnia when Theatreworks/USA presents "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Adapted from the C.S. Lewis classic, this enchanting musical tells the tale of four resourceful schoolchildren who leave WWII London for the safety of the countryside. There, they come upon a mysterious wardrobe that transports them to Narnia, engaging them in a struggle between the evil White Witch and Aslan, the lion king. Only with their help can Aslan regain the throne and return the icy kingdom to springtime. The show is recommended for children grades one through seven.

Based in New York City, Theatreworks/USA is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit theater company for young and family audiences. Founded in 1961, Theatreworks performs an average of 16 different shows annually for more than four million people nationwide, many of whom have no other access to the performing arts. Among the company's many awards are the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award (2001), the Actors' Fund of America Medal of Honor (2000), and the Drama Desk Award (1996).
