“La Cage Aux Folles” Celebrates Love and Family
at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre May 12-21

Join Pierrot Productions for an uplifting celebration of love and family when it presents the hit Broadway musical, “La Cage Aux Folles,” at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre Fridays and Saturdays, May 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, May 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. An opening night reception will follow the May 12 performance to give audience members a chance to meet the cast and crew.

Based on the French film, “La Cage Aux Folles” tells the story of middle-aged partners Georges and Albin, who live a contented life as owner and featured performer, respectively, of a drag night club in St. Tropez. Chaos ensues when Georges’ son, Jean-Michel, announces his engagement to Anne, the daughter of a local politician who is waging a campaign to “clean up” the St. Tropez night life scene – especially drag clubs like La Cage! The original Broadway production received six Tony Awards, including Best Musical; the 2005 revival received two Tonys. A 1996 hit film, The Birdcage, featured Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

Starring in “La Cage” are: Virginia Barrie as Marie, Brendan Burns as Jean-Michel, Tom Chiola as Albin, Ruth Markoe as Jacqueline, Steven Murin as Georges, David Nixon as Jacob, Blaire O’Leary as Anne, Paul Saunders as Edouard, and Matthew Whiteside as Francis.

Featured dancers include: Allwyn Baskin, Korenzander DuBeq, Allie Farina, Nicole Farina, Kristina Mancini, Victor Ruiz, Tara Wood, and Joanne Woodruff.

Ensemble actors are Rachel Benoit, Cionna Buckley, Stacy Danka, John Russell, Krystal Vozza and Patty Walsh. The show is directed by Pete LaBriola, with musical direction by Lou Woodruff and choreography by Abbey Newell.

Steven Murin is Georges and Tom Chiola is Albin in Pierrot Productions' "La Cage Aux Folles."
