“How to Eat Like a Child” and Other Tips at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre Jan. 20-22

A musical comedy just for kids – and anyone who was once a kid! – comes to MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre in January. The Kelsey Players perform “How To Eat Like a Child (and Other Lessons in NOT Being a Grown-Up)” on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 21 and 22 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer’s West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Based on the popular book by screenwriter and author Delia Ephron, “How to Eat Like a Child” is a hilarious romp through the joys and sorrows of childhood. Young performers offer up a series of “lessons,” taught through songs and skits, on key topics: how to beg for a dog, how to torture your sister, how to respond after being sent to your room, how to stay home from school, and how to watch more television. The pace is fast, the tone charmingly subversive, and the recognition among youngsters instant.

The all-child cast includes: Molly Barson, Matthew Blazejewski, Jordan Carroll, Rebecca Gerecke, Jessica Getlik, Connor Gibson, Andrew Grunther, Matt Layber, Ryan Nierstedt, Claire Norden, Pierce Rolli, Samantha Satnick, Arden Walker and Alyssa Wilkins. The show is directed by Paula Barson with musical direction by Charlene Angelini.

Tickets are $8 for everyone. Free parking is available next to the theatre. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-584-9444. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.  For a complete listing of adult and children’s events, visit the Kelsey webpage or call the box office for a brochure.
