Get your golden ticket to the strange and wondrous world of Willy Wonka when The Yardley Players present “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times are: Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, April 8 and 9 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

All the colorful characters from the Roald Dahl classic will be on hand – candy maker Willy Wonka, his staff of Oompa-Loompas, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teevee, Veruca Salt, and of course young Charlie Bucket, winner of the fifth and final golden ticket to the adventure of a lifetime. Join the eccentric Mr. Wonka as he takes Charlie and the other winners on a tour of his factory while sizing them up as potential heirs to his chocolate empire. One of Dahl’s best-loved stories, it was made into a 1971 film with Gene Wilder; a 2005 version starred Johnny Depp.

The cast includes: Anderson Monken as Charlie Bucket, Andy Mahaney as Willy Wonka, and Wayne Wood as Grandpa Joe. Also featured are Kristine Becker as Grandma Georgine/Mrs. Beauregarde, Judy Berwick as Mrs. Gloop, Jane Coult as Mrs. Bucket/Mrs. Salt, Ethan Gumpert as Augustus Gloop, Leo Jablonski as Grandpa George/Mr. Teevee, Sarah Jablonski as Violet Beauregarde, Sarah Martin as Veruca Salt, Mike McCollum as Mr. Bucket/Mr. Salt, David Szemis as Mike Teevee, and Patty Walsh as Grandma Josephine/Mrs. Teevee. The narrator is Tara Wood.

Oompa-Loompas include William Burke, Abby Coggins, Hannah Davidoff, Thomas Davidoff, Corey Forman, Jessica Getlik, Anna Herwig, Nicole Jacoby, Ezekiel Levine, Matthew McNeill, Mairead Mickey, Delia Monken, Claire Norden, Nicky Rosolino, and Alanna Rothman. The show’s director is Howard Matter; Marge Swider produces the show.

Tickets for “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” are $8 for everyone. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-584-9444.
