MCCC's Center for Continuing Studies Offers
State-of-the-Art Computer Training This Winter

Information Session on Business and Professional Courses Jan. 5

12/2/10

West Windsor, N.J. -Focusing on applicable skills and professional growth, Mercer County Community College's Center for Continuing Studies will offer a wide spectrum of noncredit business and management courses this winter taught by experts in their fields. Designed to help job seekers enhance their skill set or take a new career direction, many courses are part of certificate programs, but may also be taken on an individual basis. Most classes are presented in the evening and on weekends on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Due to limited space, early registration is encouraged.

A Spring Program Information Session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m in the MCCC Conference Center. (No pre-registration is required.) Participants will have the opportunity to meet staff, review course options and get expert advice.

Computer technology remains a key part of the curriculum - from basics such as "Computer Literacy" Jan. 14-28 and "Introduction to the Operating System (Windows XP and 7)" Feb 4-11 to the acquisition of advanced certifications for professionals in web design, graphic design applications and programming. Among the courses for professionals are introductory and advanced courses in HTML, Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver. Advanced courses for JAVA Level 2: JAVA Programming Language and SCJP Training, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and Oracle certification are also offered.

To address the demand for more in-depth training in the MS Office Suite, the center will offer expanded, 12-hour courses, starting in January, in MS Word™ 2007 I, MS Word™ 2007 II, MS Excel™ 2007 I, MS Excel™ 2007 II, MS Access™ 2007 I, MS Access™ 2007 II and the Complete MS PowerPoint ™ 2007 and Comprehensive QuickBooks™. Classes are offered in two full-day sessions or four evening sessions. A Microsoft Excel Certification Preparation course is presented in nine sessions from Jan. 24-Feb. 21.

The center continues to expand its online course options, with hundreds of offerings that run for six weeks and can be completed at any time of day or night. See the online course listings here.
