Fly In "Bus Stop"
At MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Oct. 16-25
N.J. - A freak snowstorm sets the stage for affairs of the heart
in "Bus Stop," coming to Mercer County Community
College's Kelsey Theatre. Presented by The Yardley Players, dates
and show times are: Fridays, Oct. 16 and 23 at 8 p.m., Saturdays,
October 17 and 24 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, Oct. 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.
Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West
Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the
cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Oct. 16.
In this American classic by William Inge, eight vivid characters
reach out to each other during an unexpected weather-enforced layover
in a small town diner outside Kansas City. In a mix of comedy and
drama, the action centers on romantic connections - between an aspiring
nightclub singer and brash cowboy, the diner's owner and the bus
driver, and the diner's young waitress and an aging former professor.
The local sheriff and a wise old cowboy preside over the shenanigans,
adding measured words to the messy human emotions on humorous and
sometimes painful display.
The play was an immediate commercial and critical success when it
opened on Broadway in 1955, where it ran for 478 performances. The
1956 film version starred Marilyn Monroe in the role of the chanteuse,
cast for "Bus Stop" includes: from left, Jim Guenther,
Sally Page, Del Howard, Hilary Crist, Michael Kaish West Windsor,
Russ Weiss, and Tony Vizzari; front, Kristin Bennett.
Kaish as Bo and Sally Page as Cherie engage in the push and pull of
ensemble cast of "Bus Stop" includes: Kristin Bennett as Elma,
Hilary Crist as Grace, Sally Page as Cherie, Michael Kaish of West Windsor
as Bo, Del Howard as Dr. Lyman, Russ Weiss as Virgil, Jim Guenther as
Carl, and Tony Vizzari as Will.
Tickets for "Bus Stop" are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors,
and $10 for students and children. Free parking is available next to the
theater. Tickets may be purchased online

wheelchair accessible and provides assisted listening devices upon request.
