5/12/14

West Windsor, N.J. – Fashion Design students at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) will showcase their designs on the runway at the college’s Trenton Campus on Saturday, May 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.  The runway show, which is the capstone event for graduating students, takes place in Kerney Hall, 102 North Broad Street.  Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Four fashion design students will present mini-collections and nine Fashion Club members will present clothing they have styled.  Special guest for the event is Hamilton-based designer Tammy Duffy.

According to Fashion Club President Asia Mack, “This is an event people will not want to miss.  I don’t’ want to give too much away because I want our audience to be surprised, but let’s just say there is going to be a lot of color and creativity on the runway!”

Fashion Design students will present their fashions at a high energy runway show on Saturday, May 17.  From left are students Brielle Bikowski and Audrey Zoschak, model Capri Wise, students Alysha Mooring and Nora Okoro, and model Andrea Hagins.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Kelsey Theatre by calling 609-570-3333 or at the Bursar's Office on the West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.  Tickets are also available at the Bursar’s Office on the Trenton Campus.  Tickets are $10 for community members and $5 for students.  A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the door.

According to Allegra Ceci, coordinator of the college’s Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising programs, the students have organized the show themselves.  “It’s a chance for them to share their work.  And some are interested in event planning as well.  It’s all a great background for the field,” Ceci said.
