West Windsor, N.J. – Young audiences will learn moving lessons of friendship and love delivered by a most unlikely duo – a spider and a pig! – as Theatreworks USA presents the heartwarming musical “Charlotte’s Web” at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Performances are on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Theatreworks' production of "Charlotte's Web" is based on E.B. White's tender tale of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. Wilbur has a problem: how to avoid winding up as pork chops!
Charlotte, a fine writer and true comrade, hits on a plan to fool Farmer Zuckerman – she will create a "miracle." Spinning the words "Some Pig" in her web, Charlotte weaves a solution that not only makes Wilbur a prize pig, but ensures his place on the farm forever. This treasured tale, featuring mad-cap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love and the true meaning of friendship.
Based in New York City, Theatreworks USA is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit theater company for youth and family audiences. Since 1961, the company has enlightened, entertained and instructed more than 90 million people in 49 states and Canada.
