West Windsor, N.J. - Members of the MCCC women's cross country team slowed down their pace a little bit on Sept. 11 in order to participate in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk at Mercer County Park as part of the college's walk team.

MCCC head coach Erin Cahill inspired her runners to join in the walk. "I thought it would be a good opportunity for them to bond outside of practice while doing something for a great cause," Cahill said. "There's a good chance many of us know someone affected by heart disease. I think the girls enjoyed it. It was nice for our small team to take part in such a large event and see so many other people helping raise awareness of heart disease."

Cahill notes that all of her runners donated to the cause.
